Data sources and methodology

Explore the sources behind the aircraft ranges and how the map is calculated.

Local catalogue checked against manufacturer sources on October 27–28, 2026. Data is not updated automatically.

Hourly rings = published cruise speed × whole hours. Only rings inside the published range are drawn. No Mach-to-knot conversion is assumed.

Geodesic radius on a sphere: 6,371.0088 km. 1 NM = 1.852 km; 1 statute mile = 1,609.344 m. Load, wind, configuration and reserves affect actual range.

Constant-speed estimate, without wind, climb or descent. Maximum range may use a different cruise setting; these rings do not guarantee endurance.

Earth texture: NASA Blue Marble. Three.js (MIT), D3.js (ISC). Map data: Natural Earth v5.1.2 (public domain). Boundaries and cities are generalized, not exhaustive.
